Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join the Head Office of an innovative, forward thinking, contemporary Design brand supporting the Buying & Merchandising division within homewares. With a heritage spanning nearly 50 years, this brand is synonymous with all areas of design. You will join a collaborative, forward thinking, creative team of 25 within Buying and Merchandising, with over 70 staff in their London office, 230 globally with franchises worldwide. This position offers hybrid working with 2 days in the office! Hours are 9-5.30pm, you will also have the opportunity to visit several stores to understand to enhance your product knowledge. Progression at a later stage could be to eventually becomea Merchandiser.If you have merchandising experience in transferable sectors e.g. fashion/interiors/design and you are keen to transition into homewares/lifestyle brands please do get in touch to discuss further!Key duties:

  • Raising and tracking Purchase Orders, ensuring timely delivery of stock from suppliers
  • Coordinating product orders for new and repeat product across all our markets
  • Working with Merchandiser and Buyer to ensure orders are met, and lead times known
  • Partner and work very closely with Buying team in all aspects of responsibilities
  • Preparing weekly reports identifying trends and highlighting to Merchandiser
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis to support Business decision making
  • Liaising with suppliers, freight companies and warehouse team to resolve any delivery/invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain range plans to ensure accurate and up to date information available to share with the wider business
  • Managing replenishment process and settings to ensure right stock, right place, right time
  • Identify and suggest new processes, best practice, and reporting requirement to support the needs of growing business
The ideal candidate:
  • 6-12 months merchandising, stock chain or purchasing experience
  • Or a degree in merchandising and at least 6-12 month administration experience
  • Experience of working in a client focussed, creative environment
  • An eye for detail, methodical and excellent analytical skills as you will use Excel extensively to produce reports.
  • You must be able to think off your feet and have a sense of urgency
  • Ideally from a Retail Merchandising and Stock Controlling background
  • Suitable for recent Graduates with placement/sandwich year experience
