Job Description

About the roleHave a passion for media relations and seeking a new challengeWe have a fabulous opportunity at DS Smith for a motivated and energetic self-starter to join the Corporate Affairs Team as our Media Relations Executive. This is a fantastic role for the right candidate to be part of a dynamic and lively business function.This role is a central cog in the team, supporting in the delivery and execution of high-impact communications campaigns that highlight DS Smiths vision, values, purpose. A natural people-person, you will be promoting the businesss campaigns across allaudiences, media and stakeholder engagement as well as taking a key role in managing reactive press enquiries on a broad range of issues. Using your excellent writing, project management and communication skills, you will be responsible for (amongst otherthings):

  • Building close working relationships with internal stakeholders and develop impactful press materials
  • Working closely with tier one media, ensuring you are spotting opportunities for DS Smith to run campaigns
  • Collaborating with the wider Corporate Affairs colleagues on high-profile global events and senior leadership activities
  • Contributing to the development of written content such as the sustainability report
So, if you are detail-orientated, with strong project management skills and a have a strong appetite for media relations then we might be looking for you!About you
  • An experienced media operative with strong relationships across tier one media
  • Experience delivering media relations and campaigns
  • Understanding of print, broadcast, and interactive communication channels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with sensitivity to the audience and medium in use
  • Good interpersonal skills combined with a proactive and confident manner to help you to build a good rapport with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Degree qualified (or relevant work experience)

Location: This is a hybrid role, split between the London Paddington office and home - however flexibility will be required at times.
