My client - a major UK trade association in the aerospace, defence, security & space sectors - is on the hunt for a skilled Media & PR Manager from mid-March. You will be primarily responsible for the organisations media and social media activity, ensuringit maintains good relationships with key press contacts, achieves coverage that promotes both its industries and its priorities and delivers engaging social media content.Working as part of a small Communications team and managing one Media & PR Officer, you will be the first point of contact for national, broadcast & trade media engagement and interviews and will be instrumental in the development & implementation deliveryof high-quality plans for major events. Preparation for and delivery of a successful media programme for the July 2022 Farnborough International Airshow will be a major focus for this period. Day-to-day, you will be well-versed in media relations work, including drafting and distributing statements and press releases, proactively developing opportunities to communicate key strategic messages to external audiences, digital and social media outputand supporting the Chief Executive & other senior stakeholders when they need it. Reporting to the Director of Policy, youll also work closely with both the wider Policy, Economics and Public Affairs and Marketing teams to generate and deliver media & communicationsopportunities.This trade association represents and supports more than 1,100 UK businesses operating in the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, including major UK manufacturers such as Airbus, Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and GKN, so youll need to be comfortableliaising with communications personnel at other organisations, including government departments.Im looking for an experienced media relations pro, someone who is comfortable advising senior figures and has an established record of working with journalists in national, print and specialist press. Ideally, you may have worked with a trade association ormembership organisation and if youve got a working knowledge of aerospace, defence, security, space or manufacturing, then that would definitely set you apart.
