Job Description

Join our community.As a responsible bank, we are committed to managing our risks. Our market and structural risk function plays a critical role in this. It helps identify, report, and manage risk and controls, enabling the bank to achieve our strategic objectives. Youll join our Data and Model Risk (DMR) team, validating market data and models used across the business. This will give you great exposure to global systems, stakeholders, and assets classes. The difference youll make.

  • Supporting the completion of IBOR transition project this year, which involves setting up, calibrating, and validating new data. This also requires taking it through UAT phases and governance cycle, whenever a model is required.
  • Supporting the team in locally adopting several of the obligations ECB set on Group Santander. This broadly involves engaging with Group in implementing new calibration methods and data validation techniques, in the team as well as assisting the Valuation RiskTeam and other stakeholders.
  • Implementing the new Risk Factor Framework policy locally, which homogenises risk and price factor between Santander UK and all other geographical units.
  • Working with teams across London and Madrid in setting up an End-to-End data traceability map.
  • Updating and maintaining model inventory and governance requirements in Monet which implies a good understanding of the Model Risk Framework.
  • Validating market data daily used for Valuations and Risk reporting in Santander UK and administering and remedying queries which occur throughout the day.
What youll bring.
  • Previous experience working in an analytic background with strong Excel and VBA skills
  • Experience in a role that involves processes and the handling of data, not restricted to banking sector
It would also be nice for you to have.
  • A basic level of Spanish communication is desired
  • General knowledge of banking sector
  • Great work ethic and ability to hit tight deadlines with the eagerness to handle complex problems.
What else you need to know.This role is currently split between home and office based. Offices locations will be Triton Square (London) and Milton Keynes. The expectation will be to work two to three days a week in the office. This is a permanent position.
