Armed with a solid accounting foundation you will provide professional management accounting support to the business. The role will involve at times complex product costings so previous experience in this domain is essential.Role Info:Part Time Management Accountant - Product Costing / Reporting | Sustainable Power for ShippingWapping, London OfficeUp to £45,000 FTE Pro Rata (£27,000)Benefits Package22.5 hours per week worked over 4/5 days peek | 2/3 Days Remote Based Post CovidWho we are:We are global leaders in Wind Assisted Ship Propulsion.Our mission is to advance Rotor Sail technology, accelerating its adoption across the world’s merchant fleet and proving it can benefit the sustainable future of shipping.Rotor Sails harness power from the wind to help propel ships, enhancing vessel efficiency by decreasing fuel consumption, reducing bunker costs and lessening vessel emissions.By combining this renewable energy technology with innovative engineering and a deep practical understanding of the shipping industry, we have developed Rotor Sail systems that offer fuel-saving benefits to a range of vessel types and sizes, both as new-builds and as retrofits.Main Duties and Responsibilities:+ Produce monthly management accounts and commentary for review by CFO, developing the reporting to meet business needs as the business grows+ Work with budget holders to ensure that they understand their management accounts, resolving any queries+ Undertake Product Costings, working closely with Engineering and Projects teams to ensure that our Rotor Sail products are fully and accurately costed. Reconcile and report cost variances and trouble shoot with the engineering team+ Collate research and development costs to compile R&D tax claim+ Assist CFO to produce any ad-hoc reports required+ Check and approve purchase ledger payments for external book-keeper to make payments and make payments where necessary (not transactional)+ Assist with implementation of new sales ledger and purchase approval system+ Be key liaison with the external bookkeeper and assist with external reports as necessary - Statutory accounts, Tax returns etc+ Undertake ad-hoc finance duties including resolving finance queries including purchase and sales ledger and expense managementAbout You:+ Good A levels (Minimum of 26 points/ BBC) or AAT qualified, OR+ Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA or ACA) or QBE acceptable but must have strong manufacturing backgroundKnowledge and Experience:+ Compilation of management accounts and monthly reporting+ Experience of working with high value products+ Complex product costings experience+ Proven Data Analysis knowledge and experience+ Balance Sheet reconciliations+ Purchase ledger/sales ledger knowledge (transactional skills are not required)+ Competent with financial systems - Xero and Expensify+ Advanced use of Excel+ R&D tax credit experience desirable but not essentialPersonal Qualities and Competences:+ Flexible+ Good communicator+ Good written English+ Reliable+ High attention to detail+ Uses initiative/self-starterBenefits:+ 15 days’ holiday (Pro Rata value)+ Pension+ Medical health insurance+ Life InsuranceInterested Apply here for a fast-track path to the hiring manager.Application notice… We take your privacy seriously.
