Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join on a 14 month maternity leave cover. As the Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and analysing financial information for our outside entities, preparingmanagement accounts, and assisting with the consolidation process. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong technical accounting skills and the ability to work independently.Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and inquire about financial information from all outside entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts, including the completion of draft journals.
  • Review and verify paperless input for entities using Sage 50 accounts.
  • Prepare and input data into the DIVA accounting system for the basis of consolidated accounts, including individual trial balances and intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare supporting documents requested by MECJP for the consolidated accounts.
  • Review and check VAT returns, including verifying VAT information from Property Management Companies Savills.
  • Prepare MEL VAT quarterly return and review digital VAT return input by EY.
  • Review and check CIS monthly returns.
  • Prepare various ONS returns as required.
  • Assist with gathering necessary information for the Corporation Tax Return.
  • Prepare draft Financial Statements, including Notes of accounts, for all entities and map data.
  • Assist with auditor requests during the year-end financial audit.
  • Review Year End Financial Statements for outside entities, seeking approval for signature.
  • Provide mentoring and supervision to accounts assistants.
Requirements:
  • Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of Sage 50 will be advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • ACCA qualified or actively studying towards ACCA qualification.
