Job Description

My client, a luxury fitness company, is currently recruiting for a permanent and full-time Management Accountant to join their small but busy team.This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative company, where you can gain exposure to all elements of the finance function across reporting and commercial finance.This role is based by Oxford Circus, and would suit a candidate coming from a finance background.Management AccountantPosition Overview:My client is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Management Accountant to join their small luxury fitness company. As a Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the reporting finance and commercial finance functions of the company. Reportingdirectly to the Head of Finance, this is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to take the next step in their career and make a significant impact in a growing organisation.Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis, providing valuable insights to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and analyse financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing input and analysis to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial models and business cases to evaluate investment opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the commercial finance team to analyse sales data, monitor key performance indicators, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to develop and maintain financial controls and processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc financial analysis, projects, and initiatives as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve financial reporting and analysis.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Studying toward their ACCA / CIMA / AAT qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar finance role, preferably with exposure to both reporting finance and commercial finance.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial software.
