TimePlan Education are pleased to be working with an Outstanding special needs school in South East London. They are recruiting teaching assistants who are confident using Makaton, PECs, and any other forms of communication. The shortlisted candidates willwork 1:1 or as whole class support. Positions are full time, ongoing via the agency with the opportunity to gain a permanent contract. Working hours are 8.15am - 4pm Monday to Friday.The school is in a large purpose-built building with 148 pupils on roll. Pupils are aged 4-19 years old, with EHCPs for Autism and associated needs. As well as offering students an engaging individualised curriculum, they also work hard to develop communicationand social skills with many resources including Speech and language and occupational therapists.The school requires skilled individuals who have worked with children or young adults with Autism and communication needs, ideally this would be within a school or college setting. You will be required to support exchange and communication within the classroom,while also providing academic and emotional support.
