ResponsibilitiesCovering everything from management reports and analysis to preparing annual financial statements to a variety of international standards (IFRS). You will be dealing with tax computations, transfer pricing, regulatory reporting and you will have direct and regular contact with the external auditors. You will be a vital part of maintaining and improving a world-class control environment, taking responsibility for reporting on the individual entities and allowing accurate consolidation up to group level.Clearly parts of the role will still have elements of routine, but this role represents an opportunity to join a dynamic organisation and profoundly influence the way your team works. You will have a strong interest in financial controls and how the knock-on effects ripple through an organisation, anticipating issues and spotting opportunities.Ideal BackgroundYou will be a qualified accountant with a strong educational background, eager to soak up information. You will have an interest in both getting into the guts of how processes work and how to interrogate the information you produce to add value to the business - we need people who want to do more than just turn the handle and make the machine work. Ideally you will have some exposure, perhaps during your audit career, to financial services, but attitude and hunger are more important attributes than your client group. If hired and successful, this role will afford you significant opportunities for progression across and through the business. You will have a background in audit and control, or possibly a financial reporting advisory role. Big 4 experience is preferred but by no means essential. Experience in preparing statements to IFRS or UKGAAP would be a significant advantage.
