Job Description

Location: Newham, London UKSetting: Primary and Secondary SchoolsPay rate: £80-95 per day (Rates vary on position and experience)Working hours: Monday - Friday8:30am - 3:30pmActive Recruitment are working closely with a very reputable mainstream school in Newham, East London, who are looking for Learning Support Assistant to work with children aged 11 - 16 years old. In this role, you will be working in a specialist provisionwithin a mainstream school with the goal of helping these young students with complex disabilities. This role focuses on establishing a comfortable environment for the student to continue their studies.As an Learning Support Assistant, youll work on a group or one-to-one basis with additional needs, which include a variety of behavioural or learning difficulties. This role can be challenging. However, you are part of making a real change to a studentslife - which can be extremely rewarding.The successful SEN Teaching Assistant must:

  • Have recent experience within a similar role.
  • Be passionate about working with SEN pupils
  • Be able to modify approach depending on pupils individual needs
  • Be able to inspire and motive those that need additional support
  • Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people
Key responsibilities for your role:
  • Working with specific children from aged 11-16 that require extra help and targeted support, depending on their needs
  • Leading sessions outside of the classroom with children both 1-1 and small groups
  • Working alongside other professionals to assess children including writing EHCPs
  • Working with other teaching staff to design the best strategies to meet a pupils needs.
