Job Description

Job Description The Living Wage Foundation was launched in 2011 by Citizens UK to tackle in-work poverty and ensure that workers earn enough to live on and participate in family and community life. Citizens UK is the home of community organising with diversecivil society alliances set up to develop leaders to work on the issues that matter to them, such as the Living Wage. Other projects include PACT (Parents and the Community Together) and Sponsor Refugees.The Living Wage is a movement of businesses, organisationsand people who believe that a hard days work deserves a fair days pay. The real Living Wage is an independently-calculated hourly rate based on the cost of living and announced each November during Living Wage Week, our annual celebration of a growing networkof over 8,500 Living Wage Employers.The Living Wage Foundation celebrates employers that voluntarily choose to pay the real Living Wage through an accreditation scheme that recognises a long-term commitment to fair pay and has secured pay rises for 280,000low paid workers.Living Wage PlacesThe Living Wage Places scheme is pioneering a collaborative, place-based approach to tackling in-work poverty. Local action groups made up of public and private sector Living Wage Employers, work together with charities,unions and civil society on a three-year action plan to tackle local in-work poverty and grow the number of employers committed to the Living Wage.Since the scheme launched three years ago we have recognised four cities: Dundee, Cardiff, Salford and Bristol;one town - Glenrothes in Fife, and two London boroughs - Southwark and Islington, for their ambition to make Living Wage Places. We are currently working with a further seven places across the UK, including ambitious plans in London and Greater Manchesterto work with Metro Mayors, civil society and business partners to create Living Wage City Regions.Living Wage Places taps into the power of place, recognising and developing local champions within our network and supports them to engage and influence theircommunitys employers. It feeds into broader local economic plans such as community wealth building and local anchor institution work.PurposeTrust for London have committed to invest £4.8m to make London a Living Wage City over the next four years, in orderto lift 50,000 people out of in-work poverty and secure £635m of additional wages for Londoners. This will boost our capacity to organise workers and communities, engage and accredit employers, and further build the profile and support for our biggest campaign.It will add capacity to our community organising, accreditation and comms teams, and will enable us to set up exciting cross-team collaboration seeking to: Develop leaders - 800 workers and leaders from communities in deprived areas building their power tomake change, and 20,000 people engaged in the Living Wage movement. Strengthen institutions - 135 civil society institutions engaged and 1,600 employers joining the Living Wage movement. Make change - win £635m of increased pay, lifting 48,000 people ontothe real Living Wage and 10,000 people benefitting from Living Hours.The growth of the Living Wage Places scheme and in particular our work in London and Greater Manchester has opened up an opportunity to expand our team and invest in our capacity to developand connect the Living Wage Places network and its collective learning.This new role will allow the Foundation to conduct wide-ranging analysis of the impact of our Living Wage Places scheme, draw out collective learning from the Living Wage Places networkand create events and communication materials that expand our impact and thought leadership.We are looking for a highly motivated individual with monitoring and evaluation expertise, ideally gained through collaborative, place-based programmes, combined withevidence of creating learning tools and supporting communities of practice and of facilitating diverse groups of stakeholders.The ideal candidate would be a proactive learning and evaluation professional with outstanding communication skills and a track recordof network and relationship building.Main ResponsibilitiesImpact and learning co-ordination Monitor and evaluate the impact of the Living Wage Places scheme in each location through existing and new methodologies and approaches. Be responsible for gathering,knitting together and disseminating evaluation and learning from the Living Wage Places network including impact surveys, annual place-based reports, case studies, and research. Create and oversee a peer-to-peer platform/community of practice for the LivingWage Places network as a space for shared learning and alignment on values, principles and standards. Facilitate a learning culture within the Living Wage Places network through embedding peer to peer support and learning tools and practices. Identify learningrequirements of the network and opportunities to expand engagement and participation and develop the capacity of employer champions and local leaders. Share insights with the internal team and help develop internal learning processes and tools. Build on existingapproaches - internally and externally - to develop our understanding of and impact around place-based collaboration, social determinants of health, and systemic change.Network Management Build and develop excellent relationships with the wide range of stakeholdersinvolved in the Living Wage Places scheme across the public, private and third sectors and civil society. Provide support to existing and emerging Living Wage Places action groups. Oversee the creation and delivery of a Living Wage Places network evaluationand learning strategy that measures impact, draws out and embeds learning and best practice. Be responsible for data collection and analysis across the network. Integrate Living Wage Places data into appropriate CRM systems, including Salesforce.Research andCommunications Oversee the development of communication resources to share learning and understanding of the Living Wage Places scheme. Support research and reports into relevant topics to share learning across the network and promote the Living Wage Placesscheme. Plan and organise roundtable, learning and networking events to bring together action groups and the wider network. Support the Foundations communications team to embed data and evaluation findings across traditional media, social media and websitecommunications.Relationship Management Build and manage relationships with relevant organisations, academics, think tanks and employer networks. Identify and develop strategic partnerships with a range of stakeholders - including project partners and funders- to support the Foundations work. Represent the Foundation at meetings and events, including speaking on panels and in roundtables on research- and policy-related issues.People Management Support the training and induction of team members and work collaborative
