The Engineering Manager manages a team of software engineers within the Platform Engineering Office Integration team and requires knowledge of full-stack development. The OI team is focused on integrating FactSet data and smarts into third-party applications (primarily the Microsoft Office suite). The manager who takes this position will be well adept in modern web technologies including Backbone, Angular and Vue. This manger will also be comfortable in overseeing server-side technologies with languages such as Node.js and C++. In addition, the ideal candidate for this role will be well versed in modern testing technologies, including the ideal split between Unit, Integration, and end-to-end testing. This manager will be responsible for both local and direct reports. Responsibilities: Experience directly managing other engineers Experience in programming languages such as .NET, C++ or C# Experience with Object Oriented Programming Experience with modern web development practices Highly Desired: 5 years of software engineering industry experience Experience with management, including remote management Experience with the following: MFC, WCF/WPF, MS Office Object Model, XAML, .NET, Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, C++, VB, Windows API, Perforce, Angular Experience with Multi-Threaded programming • Experience writing add-ins for Microsoft Office 2007 and above Programming experience with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows systems Understanding of various software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Feature Driven Development) and proven ability to determine the best fit for a project Experience in full life cycle development, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing and maintenance Proven track record of providing project estimates Proven ability to break down large projects into attainable milestones
