Job Description

Lead Software EngineerPURPOSELead the development, release and implementation of reusable digital, data and analytics software components toaccelerate the development and improve operation of the Hydrogen fuelled haulage solution.Provide oversight of software system design and engineering across the core team, joint development partners andvendors, including cloud, modelling and embedded software.KEY TASKS

  • Participate in relevant safety audits, inspections and observations, and address any issues
  • Provides a consistent outstanding role model in relation to safety practices with a deep understanding of the importance of safety.
  • Lead the design and engineering of software components and systems
  • Ensure that systems integrate easily, and with minimal effort to integrate.
  • Provide innovation and thought leadership for software and technology solutions that help deliver a faster more robust solution.
  • Focus on cloud and hybrid cloud application delivery and enabling platforms for rapid development and deployment
  • Provide guidance and direction for development teams and partners to achieve our vision, including in development approaches, processes and tools.
  • Provide technical leadership of the software development pillar and oversight of all software development within the hydrogen team.
  • A desire to develop advanced engineering approaches, including chaos engineering, observability and continuous validation
  • Collaborate with other colleagues as part of a high-performing cross functional team
  • Keep updated on emerging enabling technology (PaaS and other) in order to accelerate work programs
  • Identify new applications and enhancement to existing applications solving business problems and delivering value to company
  • Engage across industry bodies and technology providers to ensure the company aligns to existing and emerging standards
  • Lead by example with a strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Manage relationships and direct work program with internal teams, partners, system integrators and technology vendors
  • Provide technical support, guidance and mentoring to other team members.

  • Identify any issues around these that interfere with your ability to complete work or meet the plan
  • Escalate issues to seek action and / or look for alternative solutions
    • Role Specific Knowledge:
  • Knowledge and experience in data driven software application development & design
    • Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep knowledge of cloud technologies and applications (AWS and Azure)
  • Deep knowledge of full-stack software development - Python, C/C++, Rust, JS/TypeScript
  • (React), SQL, Containers, DevOps
  • Experience developing data platforms for timeseries data
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data-driven cloud based applications and services
  • Detailed understanding of application lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated track record of stakeholder engagement to enable aligned goals
