The Role ResponsibilitiesLead a half dozen of composite Agile teams in the delivery of development projects as well as operational improvements, often to very challenging timescales

  • Support Lean and Agile thinking as the norm, teach and coach Agile practices and values; help foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ability to create empowered, self-organizing, high-performing teams by serving as the teams servant leader
  • Mentor the teams and the Product Owners on Scrum and Agile best practices
  • Continuously improve team productivity and facilitate completion of work
  • Educate the teams, Product Owners and stakeholders on the business value of engineering practices, and promote the use of engineering practices to provide faster delivery, better quality, and fewer defects
  • In collaboration with all head of IT departments, regularly assess the Agile maturity of the teams, identify improvement opportunities, and implement the improvements at a pace that balances the need for growth and the sustainability and comfort of the organization
  • Facilitate planning:
  • Coach the Product Owners on creating and maintaining a continuously prioritized Product Backlog of stories with clear acceptance criteria and high-level estimates
  • Help the Scrum team understand the Product Development roadmap and strategy and therefore the content, structure and priority of backlog items
  • In collaboration with the teams, facilitate the creation of team agreements which minimally include a Definition of Done (DOD) and a Definition of Ready (DOR)
  • Facilitate regular Release Planning workshops in collaboration with Product Development Team
  • Cultivate trust through personal and team relationships with a range of business owners
  • Flexible attitude towards changing client needs and working with Product Owners
  • Facilitate delivery:
  • In collaboration with the teams, identify and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies internal and external to the team
  • Support the efficient flow of work through Agile teams by helping the teams remove obstacles and make improvements
  • Facilitate all scrum events and ceremonies, including elaborate planning sessions, sprint planning preparation sessions, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives.
  • Ensure updates to the plan are communicated to- Use effective metrics to monitor progress and report team velocity and support heads of department in communicating achievements to all stakeholders
  • Facilitate integration testing with client and, or industry testing with various counterparties in parallel fashion
  • Processes
  • Accountable : Product management disciplines for Software development, DevOps development
  • Accountable : report efficiently to the IT Steering Committee the status of the development, including issues & risk on planning, resources, and non-compliances to the Release Management process with mitigation plans. Report to also include the t eam velocity and product backlog / release burndown charts / reports and plan to improve team efficiency.
  • Risk Management
  • Responsible : Making sure that controls defined in the Risk Library related to software development are implemented and effective,
  • Accountable : Making sure controls are applied and constantly reviewed, primarily against risk and compliance framework to ensure full compliance to all policies and obligations

  • Our Ideal CandidateSkills
  • A College or University degree
  • Relevant proven work experience of Agile practical usage in the role of Scrum Master is required - 10+years of experience and expertise performing diversified roles such as Agile Delivery Manager, Scrum Master or Agile Coach with at least 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (JIRA, Confluence, FreshService etc.)
  • Certified Professional Scrum Master (PSM) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, time management and individual and team building skills. Advanced interpersonal skills: able to establish strong working relationships and promote bi-directional communication within and across teams and programs.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, skilled in facilitation, continuous improvement, empowerment, transparency, building trust and servant leadership. Able to effectively manage challenging situations through negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent understanding of all facets of the product development life cycle covering planning, development, quality assurance, change management and release management. Experience in ops, production or customer support preferred.
