Job Description

Hands-on business analyst, insights & strategy, pharmaceutical company, fully home based, 50% permanent role Your new companyYoull be joining a specialist pharmaceutical company who are going into their next growth phase. They specialise in developing paediatric products, with a particular focus on bringing orphan drugs to market in cardiology and neurology. As well as their existing portfolio of on-market drugs, they have a strong pipeline and are expecting to have 4 products approved in the next 4 years, and new products approved every 18 months going forward after that, giving them a significant increase in revenue and allowing them to grow the business further whilst making a real difference to patients across the UK & Europe. The company also operate a fully remote / home based culture, providing plenty of life-work balance.Your new roleYou will be joining an established commercial department, providing in-depth business and market analysis to help them grow and support the launch of upcoming products. This position will have a significant input into how the company positions its products and shapes their portfolio, allowing you make a real impact. This is a part-time (50%) permanent position, working 2.5 days per week, providing lots of opportunity to arrange the work around other responsibilities.Main duties will include:

  • Liaising with senior stakeholders across the commercial, R&D, medical affairs & regulatory departments about data and business needs;
  • Help design and implement strategies to optimise opportunities for medicines in the portfolio, eg through assessing the wider market through market/competitive intelligence;
  • Providing insights & intelligence on likely demand and/or competitors in specific therapy areas & markets;
  • Commission and manage market insight and occasional market research projects;
  • Horizon scanning to identify new data sources or technologies to utilise;
  • Involvement at leadership meetings and making recommendations on wider strategy to C-level / senior leadership;
  • Collaborating with external partners and liaising with KOLs to identify, and capitalise on, opportunities for growth.
    • What youll need to succeedAs well as strong organisational, communication and analytical skills, you should have:
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical / biotech or healthcare industry in roles such as Business Analyst / business intelligence, analytics, market research, or forecasting, either in-house or for a consultancy;
  • Strong knowledge of ethical pharma
  • Good people skills, ideally from interacting with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Strong problem solving abilities, with a track record of finding creative solutions;
  • A technical, business or scientific background, either from a BSc / MSc or equivalent experience, in areas such as IT, business, data science, statistics, life sciences or similar
