Job Description

Java Lead (Blockchain) London - hybrid workingUp to £150,000Im searching for a Java Lead, with blockchain experience, to join a truly innovative business offering an entirely decentralised network as they enter their next stage of an ambitious growth plan. This role will see you use your deep technical expertisein a hands on position while leading a team of 3+ talented engineers.Some of what you will be doing:You will build and lead a small team of accomplished developers working on IoT Blockchain. The opportunity will see you giving technical leadership on new features, optimisation of existing codebase, and design, all while driving functionality, efficiency,and security.A bit about you:

  • You have a solid understanding of blockchain and the concepts/terminology of crypto (hashing, public/private keys, PoW, UTXO)
  • Your colleagues describe you as personable, with excellent communication skills
  • You are a Java expert, who likely has 10+ years experience
  • Decentralised networks and P2P architecture are within your expertise
  • You understand the concepts of encryption and have experience of working with encryption primitives
  • Your technical knowledge spans multiple server-side platforms (Node.Js, C++, Go etc)
  • You are analytical and mathematically minded
  • You take a quality focused approach to development (CI/CD, BDD, TDD etc)
  • Working on highly complex transaction based systems comes as second nature to you
  • You are experienced in developing websocket and HTTP based APIs
It would be great if you also had:
  • Previous experience taking a leadership role
  • Experience in crypto/blockchain/banking, or possibly even gaming
  • Confidence working with AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Deep knowledge of security protocols and best practice
  • A degree in computer science or similar
