Job Description

An international bank is currently looking for a Lead ESG Risk Analyst to join their credit department. This role will play a key role in supporting to develop and advance ESG Risk Framework in the EMEA division and beyond. You will be responsible for the implementation, deliver and coordination of risk best practice as the 2nd line of defence control.Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the continued development and implementation of a programme of controls and reviews aimed at ensuring adherence to internal policies, external regulations and industry best practices.
  • Leading desktop and regular thematic reviews aimed at providing assurance over the banks ESG risk management framework.
  • Collaborate with other subject experts and internal stakeholders to ensure that all sustainable investing requirements and/or relevant environmental and social risks are addressed
  • Ensure that potential change is identified and addressed in a timely manner
  • Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts of strategy in the area of corporate sustainability and other areas of ESG
  • Own and drive projects independently to successful and timely delivery
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and working groups, including summarizing, executing on and tracking follow up actions
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong analytical and leadership capabilities to support the oversight of quality of analysis report, research and expertise the ESG Risk Control function provides for the EMEA ESG Risk Management framework and the programmes covering sustainable research& ratings and stewardship activities.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge and practices relating to frameworks for ESG (such as the GHG Protocol Standards, SASB, GRI, CDP, SCR etc.) and data sources (such as Sustainalytics, MSCI) in the contest of regulatory, risk and control environment in thefinance sector.
  • Solid experience in ESG analysis with a particular expertise in climate change and/ or social and environmental issues
  • Excellent track records of design and delivery of control and monitoring/ testing frameworks in global organisation as a leading role.
  • Excellent business analysis skills and being able to be a go-to parson quickly in a new field.
  • Flexible and corroborative to achieve a goal in complex and cross-organisational working environment.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in using big data on Excel, Access and/or RDB.
  • Education, relevant qualifications and/or experience with ESG Risk management is preferred
