Job Description

Lead DevOps Engineer / Linux / AWS / Docker / Terraform / Salary: £80,000 - £95,000 + BenefitsCentral LondonPermanent Leading digital organisation based in an excellent location are looking to add a senior / lead DevOps Engineer to their established team. Great opportunity to work in an established test team using bleeding edge tech. Looking for a candidate who ideallyhas prior lead / mentoring experience.This role will also encourage going down a more architecture orientated path.Please apply for a full job spec and JD.Responsibilities / Essential Skills

  • Manage the Digital DevOps team to build cloud based infrastructure and ensure that all systems are well maintained and secure.
  • Support the more junior team members through mentoring, peer reviews and paired working.
  • Lead the recruitment, mentoring and performance management of the DevOps Engineers.
  • Proactively promote and contribute to a knowledge sharing culture.
  • Accountable for all DevOps resource planning for both the agile development teams as well as the platforms team.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and work with the Agile Lead to evaluate and improve processes
  • Build strong working relationships with internal team members and external stakeholders
  • Support the more junior team members through mentoring, peer reviews and paired working.
  • Keep abreast of the latest DevOps technologies, trends, tools ad practices.
  • Evaluate new technologies and help to introduce them into the DevOps team where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all applications have a CI/CD pipeline that conforms to set standards.
  • Apply best security practice to all infrastructure and applications that the team works on.
  • Comply and contribute to the departmental as well as company standards and procedures.
  • Help to improve DevOps team process.
  • Define, contribute and influence the target infrastructure architecture.
  • Lead the recruitment, mentoring and performance management of the DevOps Engineers.
  • Experience of designing and building web applications.
  • Experience of working with Docker and containerised applications.
  • Experience of working with Terraform.
  • Experience of continuous integration (CI) software such as: Jenkins, CircleCI.
  • Load and performance testing experience with tools such as: ApacheBench, Grinder, JMeter, Gattling, Flood.io
  • In-depth understanding of the relationship between CPU, memory, network I/O, disk I/O and context switching.
  • Application and infrastructure performance analysis and optimisation using profiling and debugging tools.
  • Experience of working with Git and other source control systems.
  • Technical leadership experience of backend system design/implementation and systems integration.
  • Knowledge of single sign on systems.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as: Routing, Subnets, VPNs, Sockets, the OSI model, TCP and UDP.
  • Experience of automated testing.
  • Experience of working with Salesforce.
