As a Barclays Lawyer of the Leverage Finance Team, you will support the leveraged finance and leveraged finance syndicate businesses within the Investment Bank from an origination, execution, distribution and asset management perspective. The role is amix of transactional work and business advising regarding the execution of the strategic priorities of the Legal function, the leveraged finance and leverage finance syndicate business and the firm generally. What will you be doing Providing legal advice to the leveraged finance and leveraged finance syndicate business teams focusing on leveraged finance structures and products Reviewing and negotiating a full range of finance documentation including engagement and hold harmless letters, NDAs, commitment papers and other mandate documentation Managing legal risks on transactions, including advising on legal and commercial risks and solutions at the structuring/term sheet stage Providing subject matter expertise actively for regulatory and change projects; managing and ensuring compliance with legal governance and controls Formulating and delivering training competently to business and/or Legal colleagues on legal, regulatory and market developments Producing and updating standard form documents, templates, practice notes and guidelines Fostering collaboration with other legal teams to ensure exchange of know-how and efficient legal coverage Leading and managing potential opportunities on experience level and team make-up What were looking for: Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales and ability to demonstrate exposure to a broad range of leveraged finance sectors and current uses of leveraged finance products Significant years of private leveraged finance experience (or equivalent in-house experience at a financial institution) Proven track of working on a range of leveraged finance transactions in the investment banking space, and ability to navigate through the regulatory and compliance landscape Good working knowledge of the LMA primary documentation and current leveraged finance market terms and structures Skills that will help you in the role: Knowledge of investment banking or other financial services experience Period of time with a magic or silver circle or leading US firm with a global practice Knowledge/experience with High Yield bond products/covenants Where will you be workingIn the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
