Job Description

Tasks

  • Work with other digital disciplines to understand user needs and what needs to be built, helping identifying, creating and applying software development and security standards and processes as required.
  • Practice the agreed methodology and apply it to your work, identifying obvious deficiencies and supporting activities to improve the development process. Choose the most appropriate from a variety of methods of prototyping, actively soliciting prototypesfrom others.
  • Write, amend, refactor and document code to build moderately complex programs/scripts whilst applying agreed modelling techniques, standards, patterns and tools.
  • Use security controls to build secure products and engineer to mitigate security threats. Handle information with confidentiality and integrity, work with others to ensure compliance and information assurance. Contribute to the identification and mitigationof risks and threats.
  • Support and maintain software as required, including in the live environment. Use modern tools to identify and troubleshoot faults effectively and thoroughly. Package and deploy software built.
  • Monitor changes in the technology on which our clients rely and alert on any issues or trends affecting software. Adhere to industrys best practices, produce well-engineered modern products and guide others in doing so.

Qualification
  • Computer Science/IT-based degree required (min 2.1 grade).
  • A fast learner who thrives on solving complex problems.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to foster strong working relationships with internal and client teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to help shaping, enabling and delivering initiatives.
  • Experience in agile development would be desirable - including understanding user needs, building proof of value Alphas, evolving end state solutions and managing in-life operations.
  • Knowledge or exposure in some or all of the following:
      • JavaScript, Node.js, C# and PL/SQL
      • Circle CI and AWS CodePipeline
      • Sentry, Kibana, Grafana and Prometheus
      • Kubernetes and Docke
      • AWS, GCP, Azure
