World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Gas Day Operator to join the Commercial Gas Operations Day Team working within standard trading office hours which is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of their gas activities in UK and Europe. The Role:* Accurate allocation of the various volumes types to the appropriate contracts and delivery points and timely submissions for invoicing.* Focal point for Claims Validation Agent submissions and reconciliation and allocation of all upstream flows into the UK including beach purchase/sales agreements.* Calculation of Gas Day balances for invoicing.* Focal point for all inquiries from gas operations staff, traders and finance with respect to volume allocation. * Daily check of upstream field data in ETRM system and focal point for any disputes with downstream buyers of gas.* Ensure agreed business controls are in place and followed, and suggest and implement improvements.* Foster and maintain strong working relationships with the operational focal points across Europe including Transmission System Operators, pipeline operators and counter parties.The Candidate:The team are looking for potential rather than specific gas operations experience who can grow their experience within the role.• Aptitude for dealing with physical gas flows and general problem solving - again this is often dealing with numbers and spreadsheets• Excellent team player and good fit with the team • Any previous experience in gas operations would be a plus but not essential* Educated to a Degree/ Masters level in a relevant industry (must demonstrate a high degree of numeracy)*Self-starter and be able to effectively multi-task.* Highly numerate and strong attention to detail.* Commercially aware, excellent analytical skills and able to make rapid and accurate decisions and ability to handle a stressful environment.* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict time critical deadlines.* Strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.* Detailed knowledge of MS Office Tools, particularly Excel.* Experienced user of IT systems and knowledgeable on IT landscapes.* Knowledge of European gas operations and gas transportation would be an advantage but not essential.This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment.
