An experienced Java Developer with at least 3-5 years of experience is needed to join the team at this leading provider of economic data based in London on a full-time hybrid working basis.Since 1994, this company has been helping the global financial community to make informed decisions with high-quality securities reference data, corporate actions, end-of-day pricing and economic data services.The ideal candidate for this position must possess at least a Foundation degree or equivalent vocational qualification in computer science, information technology, or engineering. They must also have at least three years of extensive experience in object-orientedprogramming on JAVA or J2EE and experience with runtime versions JRE 6+.This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career with a well-established company!About the RoleJava Developers create middleware information solutions to process company data by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based components and interfaces. You will be writing Java code and unit-testing said code, integrating the Java code with othermodules, and deploying the application in their on-premise, Co-Lo and cloud-based application server environments.Working within the Operations (Ops.) team and in collaboration with Support and Development teams, you will be responsible for developing, troubleshooting and maintaining Java applications used to process their data. Your key role will be to review currentprocesses, apply upgrades, and keep up to date on new best practices and technical advances or techniques on a continuing basis.Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse, design, develop, configure, test, and implement middleware solutions that leverage Java and other technologies
• Revision, maintenance and upgrades of existing and new Java processes
• R&D of new technologies to discover new Ops delivery methods
• Develop new processes/applications as required by Ops
• Familiarity with DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Containers
• Training back-up staff in the event of absence due to sickness or holiday
• Perform the job role in compliance with security objectives as defined in companys policies and procedures
• Any other tasks as may be reasonably required
• Maintain reporting for knowledge base, analytics and benchmarking purposes
• Maintain a manual/guide designed to facilitate essential aspects of routine operations for cover in case of absence
• Maintain Change Log of addition/change requests and internal optimisation

Required Experience:

• AAS Engineering, Computer Science or Math
• 3 years of extensive experience in object-oriented programming on JAVA or J2EE
• Experience with JRE 6+
• Good Java and J2EE programming Skills.
• Good SQL programming skills (MySQL, MSSQL)
• Apache ActiveMQ
• FTP Protocols
• API calls via Java
• Foundation degree or equivalent vocational qualifications and 2+ years of Java development experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Desirable Experience:

• BS Computer Science, Engineering
• 4 to 5 years JAVA experience
• AWS Practitioner Certified
• Linux, Node.js, Python
• Experience in HTML and JAVASCRIPT
• UI development: experience/knowledge of HTML5, JQuery, CSS 3
• Proficient in Store Procedures, Triggers and db objects
• PostgreSQL; MySQL;SQL Server); Unix, Windows
• Analyse map application interaction
• Experience with API specs, protocols and payloads such as OAS, OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and GraphQL
• Bachelors degree and 2+ years of full-stack Java development experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
