Job Description

Java DeveloperSalary - up to £115k + shares + benefits RemoteA remote-first fintech company is seeking a Java Developer to join their small team in a permanent, full-time role. The office location is London, however, the company offers flexible remote working locations within the UK/Europe. The salary is dependenton experience and includes a base, shares, and benefits.Responsibilities:

  • Building resilient and adaptable fintech platforms and components in Java
  • Refactoring to improve code design
  • Writing lots of tests
  • Automating the boring tasks
Features of the way the company works:
  • Avoiding silos by regularly rotating between teams
  • Practicing trunk-based development and continuous integration
  • Treating broken tests as failures and reverting where possible
  • Practicing TDD, BDD and DDD
  • Automating as much as possible
  • Pair programming to ensure that everyone understands the context of what they are working on

  • Open-minded about the candidates experience level and background
  • Growing the team and encouraging diversity of domain experience and a range of experience levels
  • Expecting the candidate to have written code in a professional setting
  • Not requiring any particular academic or specific work experience
The ideal candidate:
  • Will be happy to pair-program fulltime
  • Have commercial Java experience
  • Have a clear understanding of and/or exposure to TDD
  • Be able to communicate opinions, ideas, and thought processes clearly.
