Job Description

We have a fantastic new opportunity for an IT Engineer to join our established technology support business.Job Role: IT EngineerLocation: HQ in Crouch End, London N8. Role based primarily in various specialist independent schools in and around central LondonPosition: Permanent, Full TimeSalary: £26,000 - £35,000, dependent upon experience

  • Starting at 21 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays) and increasing each year of service up to a total of 25. We want our staff to be well rested

The CompanyWe are a Managed Services Provider, based in Crouch End, N8. We look after the IT and tech needs of our clients, which range from small 5-10 user charities all the way up to logistics companies with 150+ staff. We pride ourselves on delivering good value,reliable solutions and providing excellent levels of support.One of our key contracts is with a group of independent specialist schools which has recently expanded to require a dedicated engineer. Were very proud of the clients we take care of, and we help them to do some amazing things.Weve been in business forover 15 years and in that time, weve expanded into large office space for our team in London, as well as having staff based in Cape Town.Our team are all happy people who enjoy working here and were proud of our amazing retention.Who are we looking forWere looking for a bright and innovative IT field engineer with excellent problem solving and communication skills, to join our team in London, primarily as an on-site engineer for one of our key customers. We need someone with the ability to work as partof a team, or to lead jobs and tasks on their own. In industry terms, we need a strong Level 2 engineer who is used to working with Windows 10, Chromebooks, Active Directory, Google Classroom / GSuite and Office 365 environments. We need someone who is passionateabout taking ownership of problems and finding effective solutions. The role will primarily be based on-site at several specialist schools in and around central London, currently with one day per week back at our office or on-site for any of our other clients.Ideally, wed like someone with a strong understanding in GSuite, Chromebooks, Office 365, Windows Desktop. We know that certifications arent everyones strong point and that its experience and enthusiasm for the job which really counts, so this needntput you off if you know youre up to the job!As the scope of our contract grows, youll have the opportunity to take more of a lead in how we run the contract.Required skills and capabilitiesThe ideal candidate will:
  • Have attained or be working towards at least one relevant accreditation (Google Cloud, Office 365 etc.)
  • Have a full, clean UK Driving License; a strong point but not absolutely required
  • Be able to demonstrate good support skills and knowledge in the following: Google Classroom / GSuite, Office 365, Chromebooks, Windows 10, Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Internet connectivity
  • Have previous working experience in a relevant role (schools, helpdesk, or field engineer etc.)
  • Possess excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Have good knowledge and working experience within an IT environment and familiarity with common OS and platforms, Chromebooks, Windows 10, macOS etc.
  • Have basic networking knowledge; VLANs, routing etc.
  • Have excellent organisational and planning skills as well as first rate customer service skills
  • Have the ability to listen and interpret customer needs
  • Be keen to develop and have willingness to gain relevant qualifications and accreditations
