Job DescriptioniOS Engineer at Checkout.comWere a small, agile team working together to ensure that our merchants have the best possible mobile payments experiences. We empower developers to deliver value for their customers with our out-of-the-box native mobile SDKs that power payments for some ofthe worlds best known brands. Our goal is simple: provide compliant and feature rich native tools to the worlds biggest businesses, across a range of mobile products. Youll play an important role in the development of the next generation of mobile payments and your work will define abest-in-class experience for the payments industry. • Frames iOS SDK helps businesses accept card payments in their apps.
• Issuing iOS SDK enables businesses to create a neobank experience in their apps.

The ideal person for this role would be someone who can strike the balance between shipping quickly and writing tested and resilient code. Youll work closely with other engineers, our Product Manager, Patrick, and our Engineering Manager, Deepesh, so itsimportant youre a team player. What youll do:

• Use your Swift coding skills to build iOS SDKs and apps.
• Have the opportunity to architect and design new features on all our mobile SDKs to ensure their future scalability.
• Add new and greenfield features to our Issuing iOS SDK to create a slick modern banking experience.
• Enhance our Authentication (3DS) iOS SDK with the latest 3DS features to allow us to onboard new merchants.
• Develop different sample apps using Swift, SwiftUI + UIKit, to show our SDK consumers how to integrate our products.
• Our roadmaps for the years ahead are ambitious; youll be joining at an exciting time where were looking to 10x the growth of our mobile products!
• Champion iOS SDK development best practices, coding conventions, and CI/CD integrations.
• Support the wider mobile team through architecture and PR reviews.
• Work independently whilst handling multiple priorities. Youll always take complete ownership of what you build.
• Constantly asking: what can we do better, and have a curious mind that challenges the status quo.
• Assert the quality of your code with unit tests and automation tests.
• Establish best practices and processes for the engineering teams overall development.

QualificationsAbout You

• Experience in iOS development using Swift, SwiftUI + UIKit
• Excellent problem solving and organisational skills.
• Passion for iOS development: you love to develop and stay up to date with latest developments in and around iOS and other mobile related technologies.
• Experience working with different dependency management tools for custom iOS SDKs/apps using CocoaPods or SPM.
• Knowledge of Xcode build tools with build and distribution pipelines (certificates, provisioning profiles etc.).
• Knowledge of core iOS concepts - application life cycle, delegates, multi-threading, GCD, memory management etc.
• Familiarity with MVVM and other commonly used design patterns.
• Experience in working cross-functionally and collaborating with other teams.
• Comfortable in leading technical projects and confidence in working autonomously.

Nice to have

• Experience developing custom SDKs using Swift.
• Experience working with advanced Apple iOS Encryption APIs and other 3rd party encryption libraries.
• Mentoring/Coaching other team members.
• Experience working with CI/CD using tools like Bitrise or Github Actions.
• Knowledge of the payments industry is a plus.
