Job Description

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Analyst to provide Financial Planning and Analysis support to the International Markets business. The role is to provide value added business partnering to the Markets business with a main focus on supporting and trackingagainst the strategy of the business by providing forecasting, cost management, resource management, customer and peer reporting. The role will require working closely with the desk heads, business leaders, COO and support functions to lead the analysis provided to them to support strategic objectives. A strong knowledge of the reporting for an International Markets business is required covering sales, trading and research aligned to a proven track record of sourcing and presenting value added data and metrics to senior business leaders. This is a self-startingrole to develop the reporting for a Markets business with strong growth plans aligned to keen cost control. The role will require working with cross-functional stakeholders globally across Finance, COO, Sales and Trading to source and deliver the information to the business and ensure that this reporting has a robust and effective internal control structure. The International Markets FP&A Business Partner will be responsible for:

  • Support leadership in developing financial research, forecasting of financial metrics, operating and strategic reviews.
  • Recommend solutions based on financial data and economic research that may have critical impact on long term business performance.
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex challenges on product pricing, portfolio performance, key metrics forecasting and various financial assessment related to Markets activities.
  • Deliver solutions on long term strategy for efficient and effective process in support of providing key finance services such as management reporting, various planning and balance sheet data.
  • Coordinate highly complex activities, with the guidance of others to implement key risk initiatives.
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to more experienced leadership by recommending compliance and risk requirements for supported area.
  • Work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
  • Lead large companywide complex projects and initiatives to drive change and success.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Reviewing daily Revenue reporting and ensuring detailed commentary.
  • Providing detailed month end Revenue flash commentary and reporting.
  • Providing monthly cost analytical reporting pack with detailed commentary and cost driver analysis.
  • Overseeing monthly cost and headcount forecast reporting and ensuring alignment with US based Finance and COO leads.
  • Prepare monthly finance pack covering desk performance against budget and including appropriate business measurement KPIs.
  • Designing and producing customer level reporting incorporating risk versus return (RWA) and customer profitability.
  • Provide soft sales credit reporting to assess sales desk performance.
  • Work with desks to produce full balance sheet, revenue and cost forecasting for strategic planning.
  • Provide Finance input for quarterly business review meetings with senior management.
  • Providing Ad hoc support to trading and sales desks.
  • Ensure all processes and reporting have a robust control framework.
Required Qualifications, International: • University degree (or equivalent) and professionally qualification with extensive and detailed post qualification experience. • Experience of building out FP&A support for a Global Markets business to support a growing business and track record of identifying areas for improvement and cost reduction. • Progressive record of accomplishment in creating value added analysis to a Global Markets business. • Strong technical skills including detailed product knowledge, accounting standards and regulatory requirements in the context of EU and US financial services. • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to give presentations and briefings to senior management. • Creative and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to analyse data from different sources to provide insightful metrics with a proven ability to use tools like Essbase, Power BI, Dodeca, Alteryx as well as PowerPoint and Excel to develop, presentand articulate complex issues in a simple to understand presentation. • Must be able to work independently whilst providing leadership and positive collaboration within a fast paced, team environment with a pragmatic approach to problem solving and the ability to work under pressure.
