Job Description

Internal Communications SpecialistAre you passionate about unleashing people’s potential through impactful communicationsThe People Experience Team have started their search for an exceptional internal communications specialist who can inform, connect and engage audiences through impactful communications to shape a great experience at our charity.Position: POD29 Internal Communications SpecialistLocation: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, occasional travel will be required as part of this role (May include team meetings or other work related meetings)Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per weekSalary: Circa £34,069 per annum (inner London weighting £3,299 per annum or outer London weighting £1,755 per annum may be applied in accordance to where you live)Contract: PermanentBenefits: 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (this will increase with service up to 30 days, full time equivalent) cashback and discount scheme, employee assistance programme, learning and development, pension scheme, Life Assurance, Eye Carevouchers, Long Service Award, Tax-free childcare, Health Cash Plan, Working Pattern Agreement, flexible working opportunities available.Closing Date: 12 November 2023Interview Date: Week commencing 20 November 2023Interviews will be held via video conferencing.   • A communications expert who knows what good change comms looks like. You’ll coach colleagues on their communication plans to guide the team through the change seamlessly.
  • Got an eye for project management Great! You’ll be the leading on the development and delivery of the new intranet to transform the online experience for staff and volunteers.
  • A tech whizz who brings ideas to develop online channels that will help volunteers and staff communicate, speak up and get what they need to do their job.
  • A vocal champion of the charity’s values where your words will inspire and influence others to act at all levels of the organisation.
  • There’s lots of moving parts. Your curiosity and strategic thinking will help to connect the dots, keep the organisation on track and tackle challenges to drive the work forward.

What to expect
  • You’ll lead on the development and delivery of a new intranet, working collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders.
  • You’ll maintain, develop and evaluate the charity’s network of internal communication channels to influence and shape the volunteer and staff experience, and deliver on the commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • You’ll support and build capability across teams so they can effectively communicate with internal audiences.
  • You’ll engage volunteers and staff with strategic priorities through creative campaigns.
  • You’ll be responsible for planning central internal communications, like the content strategies for the range of newsletters.
