Job Description

Hunter Merrifield is thrilled to be working with a pioneering childrens charity to find their new Interim Head of Trusts and Statutory. In this role you will be supervising a team of four, operating across a group of specialist organisations which comprisethe charity; you will lead on statutory bid development and related income targets. Job Title: Head of Trusts and Statutory (Interim)Organisation: Childrens CharitySalary: £55,000 - £60,000Contract: Fixed term (6 months)Location: Western Central London (primarily office based)Closing date: 7th November 2022Required: CV and Cover LetterThis registered charity operates in the UK and across the world, working to improve childrens lives. Their mission is to develop, deliver and promote best practice in the support of children and young people, so that they are given the best chance of leadingfulfilling lives and having happier futures. Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure effective horizon scanning of all statutory and major grant opportunities for the Charity Group, including managing Tenders Direct (Proactis).
  • To lead the Statutory Manager and Trust Team to plan and deliver applications to achieve the agreed business plan targets.
  • To manage the Trust team (3 direct reports; two full time and one 4 days a week), and ensure they continue to work well across all the charities in the group and create high-quality applications that package and communicate the charitys work, maximiseincome and prioritise areas of need.
  • To liaise with the charities and wholly owned subsidiaries in the Charity Group on statutory bids, ensuring they are high quality and tender deadlines are met.
  • To keep up to date with work across the Charity Group and be the lead professional in statutory and trust fundraising and develop processes that contribute to effectively securing grants and contracts.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Significant direct experience of achieving six-figure and multi-year income from trust and statutory sources, and a strong understanding of the trust and statutory funding landscape.
  • Experience of managing and developing staff/team and in the development of writing and project development to secure income targets.
  • Experience of working in a complex funding environment and with diverse services and senior volunteers/trustees.
  • An understanding of the importance of stewardship, and possessing the skills to identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with supporters of all types.
