Job Description

Integration and Release Management LeadLocation: London or Gosport (travel requires 2-3 days a weeks in Gosport)Package: Salary + car allowance + family private healthcare + 3% flexible benefits + bonus The CompanyShared Services Connected Ltd delivers class-leading business transformation programmes to government and public sector across the UK with a target to release one billion pounds of savings to the public purse. Our clients include a number of government agencies including the Department for Work and Pensions, Environment Agency Department for Education, Ministry of Justice and Home Office as well as the Metropolitan Police Service and the Construction Industry Training Board. Role OverviewThe Integration & Release Management Lead is a hands on role responsible for the end-to-end release and integration management lifecycle on a complex major transformation programme. This is an enterprise level programme that has large number of products and deliverables with a significant and complex set of dependencies, hence the Release and Integration Manager Role is critical to the success of the programme.This role will focus on identifying and coordinating various aspects of production and projects into one integrated solution that is delivered through a number of co-ordinated releases. This is a senior role that will involve building and maintain a relationships at a senior level with the organisation and within the client domain. This will entail making and facilitating strategic as well as tactical decisions including understanding and being able to articulate the commercial implications of those decisions.In addition this roles will be the lead for the continued development and implementation of the Delivery Framework and Methods to be employed across the Programme and Towers using existing Sopra Steria methodologies and best practice as required.Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion all implementations for the programme across the organisation and provide overall lead and direction in terms of release and implementation timelines.
  • Promote and engender an energised culture focused on collaborative working in balancing the interests of the programme and the client as a whole.
  • Lead on the continued development and implementation of the Delivery Framework and Methods across the Programme and aligned with the Releases
  • Work with the existing BAU Release team to develop and integrate the contractual obligations (for Release Management), Transformation Programme required approach and methods
  • Leads prioritisation of projects for entry to portfolio in line with strategic objectives and TOM and facilitates Yes/No decision making by senior stakeholders both internally and within the client organisation (equivalent to C-Level)
  • Chair governance boards for taking decisions on strategic and tactical releases in response to escalated risks or opportunities
  • Gain approvals at a senior level for implementation of strategic products, strategic and tactical releases.
  • Oversee appropriate levels of assurance for decision points on overall programme release strategy and deployments.
  • Take decisions in response to escalated risks or issues.
  • Cultivate and manage a range of relationships and key strategic alliances with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead senior stakeholders in decision making based on a clear understanding of cost, risk, contribution to business objectives and commercial impact.
  • Oversight and management of dependency and integration management across the programme
  • Oversight and management of release configuration and management, both strategic long term and detailed release planning.
  • Oversight and management of governance and quality checks across the programme for dependency, integration and release management.
  • Lead a team responsible for end-to-end dependency management, integration management and release management.
  • Planning release windows and the overall release lifecycle.
  • Managing risks that may affect release scope.
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements.
  • Measure and monitor progress.
  • Ensure releases are delivered within budget and requirements.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate projects between different programmes, projects and teams.
  • Essential Skills
  • Suitable for an individual with extensive experience of portfolio management to lead and deliver major change across multiple organisations.
  • Experienced Programme Manager with extensive experience in integration and release management.
  • Be able to network effectively, negotiate well and influence people.
  • Broker relationships with stakeholders within and outside the programme.
  • Be aware of the broader perspective and how it affects the programme.
  • Public sector experience.
  • Financial and Commercial Acumen.
