Job Description

Job Title: Insurance TechnicianLocation: London / Remote WorkingDivision: North America Special RisksJob Outline:Responsible for the preparation of new and renewal Binding Authority Agreements; Sole Technician for certain Coverholders; Handling the technical side of all said Coverholders Binding Authorities along with handling the run-off business of certain previous Coverholders.Being the first point of contact if said Coverholders have any queries and taking on New Coverholders when required. Ensuring that you are always compliant with the Lloyd’s and internal procedures and guidelines.Scope: US Coverholders, Binding Authority Agreements, Flood / Forced Placed / Property / Mortgage Impairment Insurance.Your responsibilities:Binding Authorities

  • Document data on the in-house system (Total Objects - Global XB)
  • Input Assess, validate and process premiums.
  • Liaise with the Accounts Department to ensure prompt payments of premiums
  • Preparation of New and Renewal Binding Authority Agreements, ensuring all are in acceptable order in line with Lloyd’s requirements and internal procedures/guidelines
  • Preparation of monthly Risk Level Data/Aggregates and Statistics monitoring any significant changes to the premium claims and notifying the Broker where necessary
  • Profit Commissions: Calculation/Preparation/submitting to XIS
  • Binding Authority Registrations for new and renewal business
  • Maintaining and ensuring ATLAS is up to date
  • Liaise with our Coverholders
  • Adhere to the FCA regulations at all times.
  • Prepare all Forced Placed, GLUK business and Open Market documentation, for peer review, including the setting up of the risk, invoicing, and sending documentation to the agent. Once complete, upload the Slips to A&S message for Underwriters to see. This includes creating a PAN.
  • Prepare a diary for any follow ups of outstanding information that is required to complete Contract documentation.
  • Production of premium adjustments
  • Prepare all Binding Authority Endorsements for peer review and send Endorsements to the Coverholder for acceptance and Underwriters for validation, then complete the relevant checklist.
  • Involved in the setup of Binding Authorities
  • Update all Aggregates with risks that are bound.
  • On a monthly basis, following up any payments with clients by communicating with Accounts. This includes liaising with IBA colleagues on a regular basis.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of North American Property, Flood, Earthquake, Forced Placed and Mortgage Impairment Insurance
  • Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excel skills such as pivot tables for monitoring Risk Level Data/Aggregates effectively
  • Attending seminars throughout the year on relevant subjects e.g. Mediation, Litigation Venues in North America, Cat losses in the USA
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
  • Confident and efficient in dealing with large datasets
  • Team working ability
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Skilled MS Teams user.
