Job Description

Infrastructure Operations specialist£68,000 - £78,000 basic salary + Bonus & competitive benefits packageHybrid - Remote working with one day per week in Hampshire OfficeOur client is a British telecommunications company that provides infrastructure, broadcast transmission and smart meter facilities in the UK and beyond. So, if you think you have most of the skills and experience they are looking for, then please dont ignorethis opportunity and apply for the role.We want to hear from you!The Role:You will work with the delivery function to review and update critical artifacts such as high level and low level designs which are managed through our various design authorities. You will also work on delivery of said designs making sure they are secure,reliable and flexible and meet the companys needs, now and in the future. This role will focus on both on-premise and cloud platforms.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Adopt the role of Lead Design Authority (LDA) to ensure the delivery of the end to end customer solution
  • Engage with key stakeholders to define customer requirements and ensure solutions are designed and planned to meet or exceed expectations
  • Drive the design and build activity, engaging with internal and external contributors to ensure the solution meets customer requirements
  • Analyse engineering problems related to equipment and systems or the causes of component failures and develop solutions to provide full resolution
  • Provide detailed, documented technical solutions and reports for distribution both internally and externally
  • Identify risks within the design and build through the design review process and take action to ensure appropriate mitigation/management
  • Develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide technical guidance to external and internal stakeholders
  • Translate customer concept designs into detailed design, build and test specifications that meet customers requirements, within the constraints of the total costs of ownership and operability
  • Drive innovation, both small and large, into and through the business; deploy and evidence with outcomes, a continuous improvement (CI) mind-set
Must haves:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent, Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Red Hat Certified (RHCSA or equivalent), The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
  • Strong knowledge of IT information systems technical infrastructure that support an enterprise infrastructure. Demonstrable knowledge of system administration and software development and associated security.
Might haves:
  • Extensive experience working with suppliers - both developing new services/capabilities and driving 3rd parties to resolve and fix functionality issues and errors.
  • Strong experience designing solutions in the Cloud in particular utilising technologies across, SaaS, PaaS & IaaS
  • Strong experience designing solutions across hybrid services utilising both cloud and on-premise technologies.
  • Experience in setting the standards for processes and engineering practices related to area of expertise for platforms that support services.
  • Current or historical held SC Level Clearance (or ability to be able to achieve this clearance)
