Infrastructure Operations Engineer LeadInfrastructure Operations Engineer Lead. A large claims management firm need a new Infrastructure Operations Engineer Lead to join the team. This position can be entirely home based.The Infrastructure Operations Engineer Lead will run a small 3rd line team covering the day to day management of the infrastructure environment. The Lead Engineer will line manage the BAU team made up of other infrastructure engineers. They will be responsiblefor day to day upkeep and maintenance of the EMEA Infrastructure estate. This will include but not be limited to "Patching, Backups, Alert response, Certificate updates, data centre visits, monthly, quarterly and year compliance tests and much more. We arelooking for someone who has experience of managing a small team of people with a 50/50 split in leadership and hands on work.The Infrastructure Operations Engineer Lead will be involved in:

• Be responsible for the day to day running of the BAU infrastructure systems
• Lead a small team of Engineers to complete daily, weekly and monthly operational tasks (such as patching)
• Network and physical hardware devices in data-centres and remote offices - Upkeep
• Manage and maintain the upkeep of 2 physical datacentres
• Developing standards and documentation for BAU tasks and service delivery.
• Work with the Infrastructure PMO, Networking supervisor and Telephony lead to delivery a world class infrastructure environment to over 30,000 Colleagues.
• Working across teams to provide consulting on best practices for monitoring and alerting, including integration with application monitoring systems and removing duplicate metric collections
• Monitoring and adjusting key infrastructure KPIs, SLOs, and SLAs to reflect changes in the environment
• Identifying technology gaps and implementing appropriate solutions collaboratively
• Providing off-hours and remote support when needed

The Infrastructure Operations Engineer Lead will need:

• Extensive experience of working within an IT Infrastructure role.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud environments
• Strong knowledge of conveying monitoring data visually
• Strong knowledge in Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• Experience in Back up technologies and Disaster recovery objectives
• Experience in establishing and embedding a BAU operation and implementation of measurable OLAs and SLAs Team leadership
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals
• The main tasks of the team will be "Patching (Servers and Endpoints), Daily backups, Alert responses, Certificate updates, licence updates, Access request delivery and accountability, regular back up restores for compliance reasons, Hardware and softwareversion upgrades, General upkeep of physical data centres and offices, develop process and procedures for infrastructure projects transitioning into BAU, disaster recovery testing and general upkeep of the environment. This role wont be involved in new projectwork or requests.
