Job Description

Information Security AnalystOur client, a leading organisation in the distribution industry has an exciting opportunity to join the team on a permanent basis and forge a role within the IT Security space within the business. The team will allow the succesful Security Analyst the chanceto make their mark within the business and learn their trade on the job. A background of IT Networking or IT Security is required as a starting point.Role and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the IT Security Management team and external consultants to maintain of our Information Security Management System.
  • To assist in the review and revision of policies and procedures to support the effectiveness of ISO27001 security controls that have been applied
  • To work with the IT team to monitor security events and respond to key events that are classified as security incidents
  • To support the continual improvement of our cyber security monitoring and alerting framework
  • To support the recovery of any affected processes and systems in the event of a major security incident
  • To monitor the threat landscape internally and externally and report to IT Security Management
  • To identify and introduce relevant KPIs, to measure and report, and where necessary and carry out internal compliance reviews
  • Proactively identify and report on emerging security trends, risks, guidelines and technologies
Essential Skills:The successful candidate will have competences in IT / Cyber/ Information Security operations, and be looking for a role to further apply and develop their skills, and be asked to demonstrate:
  • A solid understanding of a recognised Information Security Frameworks (e.g. ISO27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework)
  • Experience working within IT & Network Security operations
  • Knowledge of security technologies such as anti–virus products, vulnerability scanning tools, SIEM, Remote Access, VPN, Network Monitoring, DLP, Web & Email Gateways, Identity Management
  • Experience of Cloud Security, CASB technologies, IDS and IPS
  • Experience of security tools ( e.g. Nessus, Cisco Umbrella, )
  • Exposure to wireless and mobile security standards and technologies
  • Cloud technologies and security practices
  • Experience of Change management policies and processes
