Human Resources (HR) ManagerGeneralAs HR Manager you will lead the implementation of HR policies, support team leaders in staff management, deal with staff administration and act as liaison between staff and the board. The role calls for a calm, diligent, responsible figure with good communication skills, knowledge of employment law and practices, who values facilitating a professional and supportive work environment. The role will involve working closely with the HR Director and team leaders, liaising with all staff and our HR advisors to recruit, develop, retain and support the team.The RoleThe role will involve managing the HR functions for the UK offices from the London HQ.Our client currently employs circa 120 staff across three location. Circa 90 staff are housed in the London office, 4 in Birmingham and 8 in Oxford.The HR manager will report to the HR Director and liaise on payroll matters with the management accountant.The role is envisaged to be 30 hrs per week, which may be spread across 4 or 5 days (TBA) of which one may be worked remotely. Visits to regional offices on circa a monthly basis may be required.Support to the HR function will be provided through HR external advisors.SkillsThe HR Manager Role requires the following skills:Business awareness and management skillsInterpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levelsIT and numeracy skills, managing/operating computerised HR systemsOrganisational and planning skillsThe ability to analyse, interpret and explain employment lawIntegrity and approachability, as managers and staff must feel able to discuss sensitive andconfidential issues with youTeam-working skills and the ability to collaborate well with othersThe ability to compile and interpret feedback and communicate it in a professional andunderstandable mannerInfluencing and negotiating skills to implement personnel policiesThe ability to work well under pressureThe ability to juggle multiple tasks and to prioritise your workloadResponsibilitiesYou must have a clear understanding of business objectives and be able to assist in the development of and implement policies which select, develop and retain the right staff to meet these objectives. You will not only deal with staff welfare and administration-centred activities, but also strategy and planning. This involves annual and monthly cycles and ongoing tasks;Qualifications & Experience Required Bachelor Degree preferred in Business studies or related fieldHR qualification or working towards5+ years experience in a human resources positionComprehensive understanding of employment lawsExceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skillsDemonstrated ability to improve employee morale and promote positive company culture Required skills
