Job Description

Water is essential to life, so our business is always open.What youll be doingYou will be providing the TW Safety, Health and Wellbeing Strategy, and ensuring compliance with the TW SH&W management system, standards, processes and procedures. As a Health Safety and Wellbeing Advisor your role is to provide technical, problem-solvingexpert support both on-site and remotely to ensure the safe running of Thames Waters undertakingsThe role will be field based in London but with hybrid working.Key Accountabilities:

  • Advise stakeholders which will include Wholesale and support service staff and contractors on Safety, Health and well-being matters including compliance with applicable legislation and industry best practice by liaising with enforcing authorities and professionalgroups.
  • Raise awareness in the business and delivery of training in line with the annual training plan
  • Lead and undertaking audits/inspections and incident investigations
  • Assist in the review and agreement process of safe systems of work and risk assessments where there is a significant risk to safety and the environment.
  • Assist with advice on some of the companys high-risk sites that come under the COMAH regulations and enabling confined space sewer entries and ensuring safe and secure isolations are provided.
What you should bring to the role
  • Relevant work experience in a technical discipline
  • Technical knowledge of the water industry would be advantageous, with a strong experience of isolations/permits, manual handling, streetworks, legionella, asbestos, chemical, statutory inspections, machinery safety and knowledge of CDM. Delivery of successfullocal Safety, Health and well-being programmes with a customer focus
  • Full UK Driving license
  • Excellent communication skillswritten and verbal and able to communicate with senior business leaders.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and a chartered member of IOSH (CMIOSH.)
