Job Description

What’s Happening:Weber Shandwick are seeking an experienced and driven HR Manager who will work with the HR Director to partner with our UK business to bring the HR function to new heights.What will you be doingYou will deliver all parts of the people strategy to include policies, learning and development, career development, talent & succession planning, employee relations, retention initiatives, compensation & benefits, and HR technology. Your client group will predominantly be two acquired businesses and you will lead on the HR integration into Weber Shandwick. In addition, you will review the processes across CMG to implement a shared services HR function. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: General:• Partner with the Managing Directors’ and Senior Leaders• Lead on HR integration to embed agencies into the wider Weber Shandwick family• Cultivating and maintaining enduring and successful business relationships• Leading on developing and running the annual performance appraisal process• Lead and support senior leaders in developing or implementing tailored training & development initiatives for each agency• Keeping the business compliant (both in legal and regulatory obligations) in HR policy, procedure, and practice• Continuously looking for ways to improve how we work, from process to practice• Champion HR best practice and the successful implementation of key Weber Shandwick HR initiatives across our various offices i.e. diversity & inclusion strategy• Lead on a creating and implementing a shared services HR function across CMGPerformance Management & Development• Support senior leaders with the reviews of their direct reports, collate feedback and coach them in writing SMART goals and giving feedback• Ensure performance issues are proactively identified and managed.• Coach managers in addressing any issues, in giving feedback and dealing with conflictBenefits & Compensation• Oversee the annual benefits package with our shared Payroll & Benefits team, identifying any opportunities to improve or build on our current offer• Sign off on the monthly payroll, processed by our shared Payroll team• Ensure a consistent approach is taken particularly in relation to pay raises and promotions. Review and flag any salary reviews for the London office and the senior team on UK payroll.Employee Relations• Advise, guide and coach managers and senior leaders on all people decisions including performance, absence, discipline, grievance, terminations and any other issues, ensuring company and legal requirements are met• Ensure that the right people are in the right roles and that the organisational structure is aligned to the Company strategy. Manage the full process for any restructuring from a HR perspective, working closely with leadership, finance and line managers• Challenge management and leadership diplomatically and appropriately in certain instances particularly where there are issues of risk or damage (e.g. legal, financial, cultural, reputational etc.)• Review and update HR policies in line with local employment law changes.Culture• Promote and champion the Company values, integrating these into HR processes where possible• Contribute to maintaining the culture of the Practice’s• Regularly solicit feedback and make recommendations on how to improve the Company culture• Collaborate with other Interpublic Group agency HR leads to bring cost-effective and best practice approaches to HR within the wider group.Ideal Skills & Experience:• A self-motivated and resilient individual with substantial HR generalist experience with experience of working the agency space – preferably win digital/mobile or social media• Experience working with growing start-up agencies and large global group agency structures• Experience of working with agencies going through mergers and acquisitions and negotiating LTI’s with leadership • Have a dynamic and responsive ‘can do’ attitude, with a service excellence approach• Credible, confident and astute at partnering at a senior level i.e. Director, MD and CEO. Able to influence, negotiate and persuade leadership and management. Able to develop and establish trust and confidence in your ability very early on with senior players• A professional and flexible attitude, capable of interacting at all levels in the organisations• Able to handle difficult stakeholders effectively and able to resolve situations to mutual satisfaction where possible• Strong commercial outlook and business acumen, aware of the need to align HR strategies and plans to business objectives to support business performance.• Recognises the impact of HR strategies and plans on the business and the need to work strongly in partnership with the business• Highly organised, able to multitask and prioritise in a high pressure, high volume work environment – able to manage and plan own workload• Experience managing or mentoring more junior HR team members• Experience launching and utilizing an ATS and onboarding platform (e.g. Greenhouse)• Able to deal with ambiguity and change in a very fast paced, creative, dynamic environment• Able to remain calm under pressure, empathetic yet solutions oriented with very strong interpersonal and presentation skills – will be required to present to senior management teams on occasion• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and experience of handling employee relations such as disciplinaries, grievances, terminations, TUPE, etc.• A team player, willing to share and impart knowledge to other team members• CIPD qualified or degree/diploma equivalentApplications will be reviewed between 23rd April 2020 to 21st May 2020.
