Amazon Logistics people experience and technology (PXT) team seeks a passionate Business Analytics Manager to identify strategic initiatives that will help our business scale. The candidate must have the experience and ability to create and present a roadmap that aligns with the PXT and Operation teams strategic objectives. It is crucial this individual is able to influence and gain the buy-in of others on a large scale, handle ambiguity and thrive in a fast paced environment. This individual should be able to hit the ground running by analysing root causes, determining and implementing long-term solutions, and supporting teams with advanced analytical, mathematical, quantitative and qualitative capabilities. You must be comfortable designing and building processes from scratch as many of the PXT initiatives are brand new requiring insight in order to iterate and improve. This is an individual contributor role but as part of the responsibilities you will be expected to mentor a junior analyst. This role is an exciting and varied individual contributor role spanning a range of projects that sits under a newly formed PXT optimisation program team enabling the successful candidate to help shape and form the role from the beginning - if this sounds like you, come and join us!Key responsibilitiesProviding insights and regular reporting to the business on People, Operational, Financial, Economic, Geospatial and tech generated dataContinually improve ongoing reporting, analyse reporting mechanisms, automating or simplifying self-service support for customersConduct deep dive investigations into business problems, identifying potential opportunities and providing meaningful insight to progress strategic initiativesInvent and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, report design, visualizations, validation and report documentationWrite white papers to outline key plans and contribute to regular communication cadence e.g. WBRWork with Global, EU stakeholders, partnering to identify new projects and process improvement opportunitiesWorking with a high number of data sources, dashboards, reporting tools and software systemsCommunicating complex problems in simple terms to key cross functional stakeholdersBeing the UK POC for business analytics in the PXT team and partnering as a key leader through gathering requirements and quickly responding to customer needs by delivering complete solutionsMentorship of a junior analystUK Flexible locationBasic Qualifications: Basic Qualifications• Bachelors/Masters Degree in mathematics, computer science, finance, engineering or a similar quantitative field• Minimum (3) years of robust analytical experience (data mining/large complex problems for example• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills; advanced knowledge of SQL and Excel necessary in order to combine disparate data sets to answer business questions• Proven track record in using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations and drive actions• Ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment; ability to re-prioritize on a regular basis in order to remain current with business needs• Self-motivated; ability to handle multiple responsibilities under limited supervision• Ability to present technical results appropriately given the audience• Ability to influence Senior Operational leaders in a positive and professional manner• People who are naturally customer obsessed, thriving on the opportunity to engage with varied stakeholders and have a natural interest in the people metrics space• Advanced problem solving skills, using innovative or external solutions where necessary• Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft comprehensive analyses, persuade others and develop credibility and trust• Active professional Interest in technology and tools that support the people agendaPreferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications• Masters Degree (or other advanced degrees) with additional experience preferred / HR professional qualification• Experience with R or Python• Data science competencies ML,NLP• Experience in AWS tools e.g. Redshift, S3, Athena, QuickSight etc.• Experience in developing complex reporting solutions (in BI suites e.g. Tableau, Cognos, Power BI, etc.)
