Job Description

Housing Support Worker - Urgently Required Our client, a highly regarded housing charity, is urgently looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to join their team. The role will require someone who is determined, enthusiastic and has previous experience working with young people withcomplex needs in a hostel environment. Position: Housing Support Worker Period:6 months (Possibility of Extension)Shifts: Monday to Sunday (Shift Rota Basis) Hours: 35 hours a week Location: LondonRate: £11- £14 per hourDuties of the role will include:

  • Supporting a caseload of young high complex needs clients such as homelessness, mental health, gang violence, ex-offenders and substance misuse
  • Managing pre-tenancy relationship building with potential clients referred from the outreach team
  • Assisting clients with day-to-day tenancy issues, including payment of rent, claiming benefits
  • Carrying out support plans and risk assessments
  • Liaise with external agencies as appropriate to ensure the ongoing support needs of clients
  • Working in line with other key agencies, both in statutory and voluntary sectors
  • Ensuring clients have access to relevant external support services
Essential requirements:
  • Experience in working with young complex need clients aged 16-25
  • Good working awareness of accommodation projects and services that can help vulnerable people to gain independence
  • Experience working with vulnerable people providing support within a supported housing environment
