Job Description

Would you like the opportunity to provide key support to international students This is a fantastic job opportunity to join our Bellerbys College (London) as a House Parent, supporting students from across the globe. In this role, you will have the responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of supervision and care, safeguarding, security, support, and efficiency and student experience for all students.The role includes a variety of shifts:

  • Overnight shifts from 5pm to 9am (inc of hours between 12 midnight and 7am which must be fulfilled in the boarding house duty room)
  • Daytime shifts (9am to 5pm)
  • Reception shifts which can occur between 8am and 11pm
  • Shifts in the quarantine house which include the permanent presence inside the house
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise the boarding provision in a designated residential and/or quarantine house
  • Supervise the care, safeguarding and welfare of students aged from 15 years.
  • To monitor the health, safety and welfare of the students living in residence.
  • To Recognise, Respond and Record all safeguarding concerns and alerting management via CPOMS. Full training will be provided
  • Administration of homely medication to students as required, full training will be provided.
  • To follow up on issues raised in shift handovers and to produce reports at the end of each shift to maintain the continuity of care and support for boarders
  • Concierge duties at Reception and during the daytimes
  • To track and support the arrival and departure of students, this will include campus inductions, creating student ID cards, room checks, reception duties
  • To be proactive in suggesting new opportunities for activities and social events which are age-appropriate and inclusive
  • Assist and supervise social activities on and off-site, and online, being responsible for equipment and Health & Safety
  • To encourage residential students to take part in social activities. In-person and online
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience in delivering excellent customer service
  • Experience of working with young people 14 to 18 years old.
  • Experience of working effectively in a Boarding environment (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of Child Protection, and Safeguarding.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety issues in a Boarding House/School environment
  • Further Education or Higher Education Student Services experience (Desirable)
  • Current First Aid certificate (Desirable)
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent
