Housemaster/Housemistress (Day)Permanent, full time from 23 August 2021After a review of pastorally-focused positions the position of Housemaster/Housemistress has been created at DLD College London. We now seek to appoint a confident, enthusiastic leader and outstanding teacher to lead one of the newly created Houses in the School. DLD College London is a unique 21st century 14-19 co-ed boarding and day school, situated on the Southbank opposite the Palace of Westminster, and is one of the most modern and well equipped schools in the UK. London is our classroom and the School attract a large group of domestic students from around London and the South East, as well as international students, day and boarders, who come from over fifty different nationalities. The candidate will have strong academic and pastoral background in previous educational contexts. This could be a position for a successful Head of Department, Head of Year with experience of assistance with University applications, or Senior Tutor, though equally it would suit a day Housemaster/Housemistress in another context who desires a fresh challenge. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, providing key dialogue between the School and Parents, Guardians & Agents. They will have demonstrated continuing professional development throughout their career, particularly with aspects of academic management and pastoral care. Experience in coaching is desirable. As the school is a boarding school, the candidate would be expected to support the wider life of the college. Most importantly they will possess the skills and ability to lead a team of Tutors, fostering an inclusive and supportive house ethos for students and associated staff, so that all can best fulfil the schools values of respect, tolerance and kindness. It goes without saying, that the candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to achieve high standards in delivering support to students from a wide variety of countries.
