Job Description

Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) are looking for a Head of Stakeholder Engagement to join our team.Are you passionate about engaging with diverse and influential stakeholders across the defence sector Do you have the skills and experience to coordinate and deliver strategic stakeholder engagement programmes that protect and build the reputation of avital organisation If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) as Head of Stakeholder Engagement.DE&S is a bespoke trading entity and arm’s length body to the Ministry of Defence, responsible for equipping, supporting and sustaining the UK’s Armed Forces with the best possible equipment and services. As Head of Stakeholder Engagement, you will playa pivotal role in managing the organisation’s engagement with key stakeholders, including senior civil servants and military leaders, Ministers and Parliamentarians and Defence Industry.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to gain high level exposure across senior stakeholders in the Defence sector, whilst building and delivering strategic stakeholder engagement programmes that support the organisation’s objectives.Please note, the salary for this position listed above is not inclusive of an Outer London Weighting/Recruitment and Retention Allowances.Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver a proactive stakeholder engagement programme for DE&S, to meet stakeholder needs and build and protect DE&S’ reputation.
  • Develop effective reporting on stakeholder engagement, ensuring all activity supports the needs of stakeholders and the organisation’s objectives .
  • Support the senior leadership team across all business units to manage stakeholders at a senior strategic level, across the MOD, Parliament and the Industry base.
  • Work with senior colleagues across the Corporate Affairs function and leaders across the business, to understand DE&S’ stakeholder landscape, support DE&S leadership in engagement with key stakeholders and establish the reporting and measurement of engagementactivity.
Person specificationTo be successful with your application, youll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
  • Experience delivering stakeholder engagement programmes to build and protect reputation in a complex organisation.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders in strategic engagement with stakeholders (including political stakeholders), composing briefing documents and supporting materials to create high quality engagement.
  • Experience developing and utilising a stakeholder engagement database to share insight and information, plan and track engagement.
  • Demonstrable experience building and delivering reporting on stakeholder engagement, to measure the impact of engagement activity.
It would also be advantageous if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:
  • Knowledge and experience of working within the defence sector
