Head of SalesLocation: London E1Salary: VeryCompetitive + commission & benefitsWhy do we want youWe are seeking a new Head of Sales to work as part of the subscriptions leadership team - working alongside the BU Director, Editor, Head of Marketing and the Product Manager: the Head of sales is responsible for the commercial success of the £2.6M+ HSJ corporate subscriptions file, leading a team of 5 sales people on renewals and new business sales for both of HSJ’s digital platforms.HSJ’s leadership team supports flexible working: we value experience, expertise and great people above a traditional 5-day working week. We believe this role can be adjusted to work as either a full-time or a reduced hours role with flexibility: 3, 4 or 5 days per week.A bit about us.Wilmington plc is a company with a difference.   • Leadership: developing our experienced, high-performing sales team, and setting the standards across the wider Wilmington Healthcare and PLC Sales function
  • Strategy: Working with the Subscriptions leadership team to develop the 5-year growth strategy
  • Account planning: up selling and growing AOV and account value at renewal
  • New business pursuit: working with marketing to develop a targeted, pursuit-list approach
  • Training and developing great sales-people - for HSJ and across the wider PLC
  • Tracking/measuring and driving sales activity: setting and tracking key sales KPIs
  • Product development: engaging directly with customers to support product development
  • We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes...We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment.Experience:
  • B2B sales management and extensive overall commercial experience
  • A demonstrable track record of sales performance - a career delivering and exceeding targets
  • Experience designing and delivering sales training and supporting personal development
  • Subscription sales experience highly desirable
  • Product development/improvement experience highly desirable
  • Sales CRM (SalesForce, MS Dynamics or similar)
  • Personal qualities:
