Job Description

Head of PropertyLocation: Flexible, Based at a WWT site with opportunity for home workingHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to FridaySalary: £42,798 to £47,078 per annum, dependent on skills and experienceWe are seeking a collaborative and pragmatic Headof Property to lead on WWTs UK wide property strategy.About the roleThe Head of Property will report into the Director of Finance and Support Services, and will be responsible for developing a strategy across the WWT property estate. A key focus will be ensuringthe best use of WWT property to maximise both charitable outcomes and commercial opportunities, in support of the charitys finances.The role sits in the Support Services directorate, alongside other support functions such as Finance, IT, People, Compliance,Health & Safety, Sustainability and Legal. This team provides high quality business partnering to central teams (based at Slimbridge), teams based at the ten UK WWT wetland sites and colleagues in our international offices in Cambodia and Madagascar. The rolewill include travel to all 10 of our UK sites.Your key responsibilities will include: To design a property strategy for the WWT estate to make best use of existing property and propose further developments and ensure properties are maintained and secure. Thisincludes 10 WWT sites across the UK.Types of property include visitor centres and exhibits, hides and aviaries, restaurants, shops, office space, meeting rooms, a museum, a hostel, avicultural facilities, residential property (holiday rentals, tenancies, andstaff and volunteer accommodation), farm land and buildings, catering and storage facilities, car parks and outbuildings. To ensure that all aspects of the buildings, structures and associated infrastructure are managed to an agreed organisational standardand meet all statutory regulations. To provide expert advice, coaching and support to colleagues on property and vehicle related matters in order to maximise efficient and effective operations and to help develop organisational expertise in these areas. Todevelop appropriate data management, metrics and reporting to monitor performance. This would include ensuring that a property asset register is maintained.About YouTo join WWT as the Head of Property you will need: Property and facilities management experiencein a multi-site organisation Demonstrable experience of project management principles, application and successful delivery Experience of leading on large capital expenditure projects, designing planned preventative maintenance programmes and procurement ofsignificant national contracts.
