Job Description

Our client is the leading provider of international tax and wealth management advice to UK nationals living in Europe. The company is owned by its management and locally-based Partners and has over 20 offices across seven countries - London (HQ), Malta (operational hub), and regional offices across Spain, France, Portugal, Cyprus and Monaco.The company is highly successful and has strong growth ambitions and is now looking for a dynamic individual to join the company as Head of IT. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a successful, expanding business in a role wherethey can really make a difference. The RoleThe Head of IT is responsible for the day-to-day management of all the group IT infrastructure including cloud environment, hardware, software, networking, security, user technology, 3rd party vendor management and overseeing first to third tier support witha hands-on approach where required. Candidates must be able to manage effectively people while also possessing extensive technical knowledge as this is a small team with a wide range of technology. Tasks also include managing IT projects that arise duringthe year, within IT infrastructure unit and also involvement in business projects that require technology expertise.Other typical duties include the analysis of the organisations technological needs, overseeing environment security, planning the groups IT budget and overseeing IT expenditure throughout the year, and managing staff development for team members.This is a permanent role based in either London or Malta but with some travel between the two and on occasion to our clients other European offices. The IT infrastructure team forms part of a wider technology team that includes 9 full time staff - IT (4),XPLAN (CRM system) (3), Management Information (2). The IT infrastructure team has 2 members based in Malta and 1 in the UK. This role covers the management of the infrastructure team only.Salary: Competitive base + bonus + benefits including private health careKey Responsibilities

  • To operationally manage the IT infrastructure team to ensure the service provided is efficient, effective, continuous, and secure and meets the needs of service users whether delivered internally or via business partners.
  • Manage relationships with 3rd Party providers of products & services
  • Manage relationships with different stakeholders within the business, at different corporate levels.
  • Manage IT support requirements within the core and remote sites to support delivery of excellent service to end users.
  • Maximise the performance of the team against defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure business continuity for all key services
  • Actively promote and manage the process of continuous improvement within the organisation.
  • Create and maintain relevant technology processes, including especially security best practices
  • Participate and contribute to relevant management meetings and deliver regular updates to senior management around the status of technology within the firm.
Qualifications, Experience & SkillsAll Candidates will need to demonstrate a broad knowledge of technology and possess the ability to explain technology issues to non-technical staff at all corporate levels together with the business benefits. They will also need to be comfortable with regularEuropean travel.Specifically, candidates will need to be able to demonstrate experience of:
  • A minimum of 5 years experience within a similar role.
  • Microsoft Cloud, including Office 365, EMS in InTune, Azure and SQL
  • Windows Server 2012 onwards
  • Virtual desktop (Azure virtual desktop or similar)
  • Cloud hosting
  • Infrastructure design and management
  • Information & cyber security management
  • Change & project management
  • Management of third parties, including outsourced arrangements and contract and service level management
  • Telephony infrastructure
  • Project management
  • Implementing and managing IS standards, ideally NIST or ISO27001
  • Remote and user self-service support models
  • Avaya Telephony and Darktrace Antigena email is an advantage
  • A working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
  • Proficiency in managing a team, whilst also happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Team mentoring & coaching.
All candidates will require:
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in verbal and written English
