Our scale offers all our people great opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills and to progress their careers.Job DescriptionPurpose of the JobWorking closely with the Head of IT and other Global heads of function within IT and Client Solutions, to ensure that the group has a secure, reliable, robust and scalable technology infrastructure, to support internal and external clients across all of thelocations in which the group operates.Head up a team of senior engineers working across the group, develop policies and procedures for our systems, manage major incidents and report on performance.Main responsibilities To be responsible for the provision of telecommunications, local and wide-area networks, data centres, hosting and "cloud" infrastructure whether provided by the group or through third parties To implement the policies defined by the Global Head of Information Security and Global Head of IT To provide a roadmap and develop the infrastructure worldwide anticipating and planning for future requirements To work with other members of the IT and Client Solutions teams to ensure day-to-day operations are handled efficiently, regular maintenance is undertaken, and that good IT service is provided across all offices to agreed standards. To manage delivery against IT team and Ocorian standards and assist in their further development. To lead the development and implementation of Infrastructure projects in a suitable manner and ensure that business needs are fully assessed, business participants are fully engaged and that projects deliver the expected benefit. Manage external suppliers and ensure that business continuity and security plans are embedded in every solution. To be the authority on Infrastructure matters and contribute to the development of IT plans and policies Keep abreast of technical developments, research business requirements and manage pilot projects and the evaluation of new systems. Reporting to senior managers of system availability and performance To manage Infrastructure staff in all locations - ability and willingness to travelQualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of various infrastructure technologies specifically around Microsoft and Citrix systems. Understanding of the latest cloud technologies, mainly Azure. Good project management skills Team management of experience of up to 10 individuals (Performance management, Objective setting etc) At least 5-7 years experience in a technical position and experience of heading up and managing an infrastructure team Experience of managing globally dispersed and culturally different individuals and teams. Good financials and commercial experience, managing and building a budget and forecasting
