Job Description

By providing expertise and insight, we support our members, partners, and stakeholders as they preparethe UK for what comes next in a constantly changing world.Role OverviewWe are looking for a Head of Events and Sponsorship to oversee the delivery of techUKs programme of flagship events and sponsored activities.A key aspect of this role is the focus on building and diversifying our sponsorship streams to improve our brand awareness as well as bring in revenue.This role is responsible for the delivery of the sponsorship programme across podcasts, webinars and events while also exploring new revenue options. With a specific contribution and revenue target outlined, there is also a strong commercial element to thisrole.Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, create and drive the sponsorship plan that supports techUKs overarching business objectives.
  • Ensure the sponsorship programme delivers on both the revenue and contribution targets set as part of the financial forecasting.
  • Plan and execute on individual flagship events including sourcing sponsorship, managing the development of agenda, agreement on format, generating promotional activity and execution on the day.
  • Oversee budget process for individual events.
  • Ensure sponsored activities (podcasts and webinars) are delivered to the highest quality, and sponsors and delegates alike are happy.
  • Identify and put forward new tools, ideas and recommendations to enhance our events calendar and sponsorship activities.
  • Ensure all sponsored activity is in line with the brand guidelines and work with the Head of Brand and Campaigns to amplify sponsored activity.
  • Manage outreach for sponsorship via the website, direct mails and social media.
  • Ensure all website copy and promotional material is created in a timely manner and kept up to date.
  • Work with the Digital team to make the CMS and CRM systems work for events, making requests to ensure event activity and delegate information is recorded correctly and easily accessible.
  • Identify and source external suppliers to ensure all events are produced to the highest quality.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders on events and sponsorship activities.
  • Work with the Events Manager to ensure that all sponsorship deliverables are achieved and sponsors have a positive end-to-end experience.
  • Line manage and develop the Events Manager and the Events Assistant to ensure a high-performing team

Essential Knowledge and Experience
  • An experienced events leader who has developed and led the implementation of a successful events calendar across multiple disciplines.
  • Able to manage a variety of different format events, from dinners to hybrid to competition environments.
  • A self-starter able to find creative ways to grow the organisations profile (and revenue) through exciting new revenue streams.
  • A strong communicator who can work closely with suppliers, members, stakeholders and internal team members to deliver fantastic results for all.
  • Strong copywriting skills with keen attention to detail.
Desired Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience working in the tech sector and/or membership working on B2B brand awareness.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics, ClickDimensions and ReadyMembership CMS.
