Job Description

The Head of Merchandising & eCommerce will be responsible for the merchandising strategy for all customer facing digital products,including websites, apps and bookings (table + room/hotel) platform. Managing a growing team of Digital Merchandisers, responsible for the planning and execution day to day trading activities including content and campaigns across the websites, app and bookingplatforms. The role will be focused on our 1,600+ managed pub business and their respective brands and websites such as Hungry Horse, Chef and Brewer and Greene King Local Pubs, with some involvement in other areas of Greene King such as the brewery and ouronline beer shop.This role can be home based the majority of the time, with travel to one of our offices in Burton Upon Trent, London or Bury St Edmunds on a fortnightly basis.Key Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the Head of Product and UX to define the digital merchandising strategy for the business
  • Responsible for leading the implementation and delivery of the digital merchandising strategy
  • To make a step change in how our websites are managed with our new DXP capability
  • Identify at planning level content requirements to leverage the new DXP capability
  • To own and manage the digital merchandising plan for our digital products and brands
  • To lead the team responsible for execution of day-to-day trading activities, e.g. content and campaigns, across websites, app and booking platforms.
  • Responsible for delivering the best possible user journeys as part of digital merchandising
  • Create a culture of test and learn with multiple experiments across the estate
  • Take ownership of web performance KPIs, including conversion and customer experience metrics
  • Use customer insight and tracking studies as well as analytics to improve journeys and conversion and the user experience
  • Collaborate with various teams across Digital & Marketing to ensure we are offering the best possible customer experience.
About You
  • Experience as Head of Digital Merchandising, Head of Online Trading, Head of eCommerce, Senior Digital Merchandising Manager or senior content roles.
  • Experience creating and implementing digital merchandising strategies across multi brand and multi-channel
  • Experience managing day to day trading activities across multiple websites, brands and platforms
  • Extensive experience working with digital experience platforms like Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager or similar.
  • Experience of managing eCommerce platforms
  • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to communicate and influence those around you.
  • Willing to adapt at pace to the changes and needs of the business and project context
  • Inspires others to be passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • A genuine desire to work within the pub and restaurant sector
