Job Description

Head Of Cyber SecurityI am recruiting for a Head of Cyber Security to work within Government services. This is an exciting role for individuals who wishes to help design, enable and deliver the vision and strategy of the cyber security function for my client.You will be expected to manage a team of 6-8 cyber security engineers, manage day to day operations of the cyber security team, develop team members skills and experience whilst maturing the cyber security functions overall processes and procedures. Thepost holder will be expected to lead by example. Good stakeholder management, collaboration and engagement skills is needed to communicate across all levels within technology departments.Experience

  • To define, develop and maintain a business-aligned Information and Cyber Security strategy and operating model
  • Deliver an effective Information Security Management System (ISMS) and processes for continual improvement and lead the ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus accreditations
  • Any experience of threat modelling, Security Architecture, HLD and LLD designs would be useful Represent the Cyber Security function on relevant project boards and working groups, ensuring Security is considered at all stages of the IT service deliverylifecycle
  • Experience with multi-layer security solutions and management of SIEM tools - such as LogRhythm, Splunk, Solarwinds, IBM Qradar or similar
  • Any experience with Vulnerability management tools such as NESSUS, Qualys, Outpost24 or similar, as well as endpoint protection, WAFs, DLP etc.
  • Experience with cyber security concepts, such as threat detections, incidents response, penetration testing (external /internal), malware and DDoS mitigation
  • Experience and knowledge of public cloud e.g. Azure, Office 365 and automation tools
  • Use Agile methodologies to maintain a strong focus on delivery priorities, holding others to account for delivery, and swiftly responding to changing requirements.
  • Lead and develop high performing teams, supporting Agile working practices, and a digital delivery culture.
  • Experience of team management such as incident management (SOC / CIRT), managing a team of technical cyber security engineers
  • Maintain detailed application and domain knowledge to support technical teams
  • An extensive background working in IT Security based roles, having relevant industry experience and/or qualifications (CISSP, CEH etc)
This is a permanent role paying between £75,000 - £85,000, plus a healthy pension, 28 days + bank holidays.The role offers a hybrid working approach such as 2 days in the office (based in London) and 3 days from home.
