Job Description

The Group Tax team is seeking to recruit a Group Tax Manager to support across all aspects of the corporate taxation of the group, including tax compliance and reporting, as well as overseeing international employment issues. This role will include an interesting mix of compliance, provisions and reporting, tax projects and advisory, process improvement and business partnering from a corporate tax perspective. This role reports into the Head of Group Tax. AccountabilitiesDuties may include but are not limited to working closely with the Head of Group Tax on the following:

  • Management of the Group Tax Accounting provisions on a monthly, interim, and annual basis for current and deferred tax in line with IFRS and local GAAP requirements, including consolidation adjustments, for review by the Head of Group Tax.
  • Monitoring and analysing the ETR at Group level and by Entity. Preparation of Board Packs.
  • Working with our Big 4 worldwide tax compliance outsource provider to ensure timely submission of all corporate tax returns on a global basis. To coordinate provision of high-quality data and tax technical analyses required. First review of all returnsprepared by the advisor.
  • Identify/implement appropriate tax technology solutions to drive efficiency in both the compliance and reporting processes.
  • UK tax technical analysis of tax sensitive accounting entries.
  • Monitoring and maintaining reconciliations for all current and deferred tax control accounts in line with UK Senior Accounting Officer requirements and those of other jurisdictions.
  • Management of tax governance inc. input into HMRC relationship management & CCO obligations.
  • Monitoring of corporation tax related legislation and regulatory developments.
• Assistance on wider corporate tax projects which subject to availability which may include:
  • M&A (both due diligence and integration)
  • Group reorganisations and structuring matters
  • Overseeing international employment issues as they arise, including co-ordination of advice from our Big 4 advisors, considering any employment obligations or PE impacts.
  • Working with share scheme team on deferred awards for cross border workers.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience gained in a Group tax function in the Financial Services sector or large/medium sized practice background.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS Tax accounting requirements.
  • Very proactive with a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent excel skills and analytical skills, and ability to manipulate large amount of data.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain tax issues to non-tax people.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Keen on automation.
  • Strict observance of procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and liaise with external advisors.
  • Qualified accountant or CTA qualified.
  • Experience of Workday Accounting systems and OTP would be an advantage.
