Job Description

About UsAvencia Consulting are currently looking to recruit a Group Planning Manager for a 12-month assignment on behalf of a Global Insurance & Reinsurance firm based in The City.The RoleThe Group is going through an exciting period of transformation and this role will play a key part in supporting the development and execution of this strategy. As a result the role would be ideal for an individual who enjoys working in a fast paced and dynamic environment.The primary objective of the role is the delivery of the annual financial plan and quarterly reforecasts for the UK and Lloyds platforms, including the Lloyds SBF. The role also has a ownership for broader Group processes including the Group’s Balance Sheet and the Internal Quota Share projections. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work with a broad range of stakeholders across the UK, and will be the primary point of contact for the UK CEO, UK CFO and the Lloyd’s Active Underwriter for all matters related to planning and forecasting.The role will be based within a high calibre central Group Finance team, who will provide guidance and development support.Key Responsibilities· Prepare the three year annual plan and quarterly reforecasts for the UK and Lloyd’s platforms, including the Syndicate Business Forecast ("SBF"). Review and where necessary prepare inputs into the planning and reforecasting process, including but not limited to premiums, losses, expenses, outward reinsurance, commission, investment income, debt interest and intra-group transactions. · Maintain the Group Internal Reinsurance Model for the Group Business Plan· Prepare the Group and UK Balance Sheet Model for the 3 year planning period · Actively partner the UK CEO, UK CFO and Lloyds Active Underwritier. Ensure they remain briefed on the status of core deliverables whilst supporting ad-hoc UK and Lloyd’s planning needs. · Engage with all key UK and Lloyd’s Plan stakeholders, including all Platform Finance, the Commercial Segment Finance, Group Expense, Group MI, Reserving, Outward Reinsurance Accounting, Capital Modelling, Lloyds and Strategy.· Draft board papers for the Board and Executive Committee for both the UK and Lloyds platforms, preparing suitable analysis and commentary to articulate key themes within the plan and reforecast. · Partner with the Lloyd’s CFO in the preparation of SBF form submissions.· Financial performance reporting and analysis on the UK and Lloyd’s platform on a quarterly basis for the board and Executive Committee.· Own and continually look to enhance the existing suite of UK planning reports to ensure they maximise value add and remain aligned to commercial developments. Understand how to utilise the planning data stored in the Group’s Financial Planning & Analysis Cube for UK and Lloyds requirements.Support the Group Head of Financial Planning as necessary on both Lloyds/UK and wider Group projects.Education/Experience- Professional accounting qualification (ICAEW, ICAS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA),- 4 years plus experience in an FP&A function within the general insurance industry- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including the ability to utilise macros and power query functions to maximise process autonomy- Problem solver, able to work under own initiative- Organised, strong time management and prioritisation - Good written and verbal communication, able to maintain relationships with many stakeholders Required skills
